FK-KMK UGM. Three students from the WHO-TDR Implementation Research program at the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM participated in oral presentations at the 12th UGM Public Health Symposium on Wednesday (12/06) at Tahir Foundation Building, 2nd Floor North Wing, FK-KMK UGM.

The students, Sudip Nepal, Shreya Khanal, and Pramila Aryal, are from the 6th Batch of the Implementation Research program. They delivered their oral presentations both in-person and online. Sudip Nepal presented his research titled “Fidelity of implementation of healthcare provider-oriented care and support to people with leprosy for disability prevention and management in Rupandehi district, Nepal.”

Pramila Aryal presented her research titled “Yes, but Impossible: Implementation Research on the Acceptability of Self-care Practices among People Affected by Leprosy in Rupandehi District, Nepal.” Meanwhile, Shreya Khanal presented her research online, titled “Gender related factors affecting implementation fidelity of Mass Drug Administration of Lymphatic Filariasis Programme in Jhapa district of Nepal: An Implementation Research.”

The participation of these WHO-TDR Implementation Research students is part of the learning process to enhance the quality of education. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education. This activity helps improve their ability to widely present their research.

The 12th UGM Public Health Symposium is a regular event organized by the Public Health Postgraduate Study Program. In 2024, 114 research abstracts were accepted, with the potential for publication in the BKM Public Health and Community Medicine Journal.
