We are pleased to announce that the application deadline for the TDR Implementation Research (IR) Leadership Fellowship Programme for Public Health Impact (2026/2027) has been extended.

This prestigious fellowship, hosted by the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and funded by TDR (the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases), is designed to develop the next generation of leaders in Implementation Research.
Programme Highlights:

Objective: To build professional leadership in IR, enhance institutional capacity for research-driven public health solutions, and establish a global network of IR leaders from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Focus Areas: Addressing key global health challenges including infectious diseases of poverty, antimicrobial resistance, epidemics, and the health impacts of climate change.

Two Streams: The programme caters to:

Academics/Researchers: Individuals pursuing leadership in research and academia.

Public Health Practitioners: Managers and leaders in public health programmes.

Duration & Format: A 6-month, in-person fellowship (May – October 2026), conducted in English at UGM.

Comprehensive Fellowship Package: Includes a monthly stipend, return airfare, insurance, project funding support, language training, and coverage for conference travel.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be nationals and residents of LMICs in the WHO South-East Asia, Western Pacific, or Eastern Mediterranean Regions, under 40 years of age, and employed at an eligible institution (university, research institute, Ministry of Health, etc.). Specific educational and experience requirements vary by stream.
