IR Batch 5 Visits WMP Yogyakarta Entomology Laboratory

Group of Implementation Research students with some peers from Tropical Medicine Master Program visited World Mosquito Program (WMP) Yogyakarta Laboratory on Jalan Podocarpus I, Sekip N-14, Senolowo, Sinduadi, Sleman on Thursday (23/06).

Riris Andono Ahmad, MPH, Ph.D as part of WMP team welcomed and briefly explained the profile of the WMP Yogyakarta, as well as information about mosquitoes with Wolbachia.

Students were divided into two groups. Each group was accompanied by researchers to see firsthand the location of the Wolbachia mosquito production site. They also received information regarding the location of mosquito placement. The researchers also presented data on the decrease of up to 77% of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever cases at the site of the spread of Wolbachia mosquitoes. read more

Student Visits to Puskesmas, Hospitals, and Wirogunan Penitentiary Centers

In June 2022, the Implementation Research Program of Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM conducted a series of field visits for its students. Among them are Community Health Center (Puskesmas) Jetis 1 Bantul, Puskesmas Mlati 2 Sleman, Respira Bantul Hospital, and Wirogunan Penitentiary Center (Lapas).

This visit is a requirement for the Infection Control course. The Infection Control course is a mandatory course for students of the Implementation Research Program, and selected courses for students of the Tropical Medicine Study Program of FK-KMK UGM. read more

Funding for these full scholarships is from TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, based at the World Health Organization in Geneva (TDR Postgraduate training support). Only applicants from low- and middle-income countries of WHO South-East Asia and Western Pacific Regions are eligible. read more

First Hybrid Classes of the Implementation Research Program

 On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Tahir Building, second floor, the Implementation Research Program held hybrid classes with the course “Strategy to Improve Supply and Utilization of Drugs and Vaccines for Tropical Diseases”. Even though this course is held in class, the lecturer and students always follow health protocol (people are limited to keeping physical distance).

This course was taught by many lectures on various topics and compulsory courses which must be taken by students from the Implementation Program and Tropical Medicine Program. read more

Open House Implementation Research with Embassy of The Republic of Indonesia

The Management of Special Program of Implementation Research UGM held an Open House with the Embassy of The Republic of Indonesia in the Southeast Asian Regions on Friday, March 19, 2022. This meeting aims to spread information about scholarship opportunities for the academic year 2022/2023 which are open until the end of April.

Audience of Incoming Implementation Research Students

Universitas Gadjah Mada announced that the lectures will be held in a hybrid in the even semesters. This application follows procedures from the government regarding offline learning. This makes Implementation Research Managements ready to welcome students who come.

The audience meeting regarding the arrival of students from their countries was discussed by the Implementation Research Managements with a team from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta (Office of International Affairs). Basically, there is good news regarding the arrival of students, but they still have to follow further directions due to the increase in the Omicron variant. read more

Two students of Implementation Research graduated in January 2022

On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, Universitas Gadjah Mada held online and offline (limited) graduation which took place at Grha Saba Pramana (GSP). There are 979 Postgraduate Program students graduate, including two students from the Implementation Research program. Both are from they, Anup Khadka from Nepal and Marcos Da Cruz Gomes from Timor Leste.

According to the website of UGM Yogyakarta, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, D.Eng., IPU, ASEAN Eng., as UGM Rector said the students who graduated today are part of the UGM alumni, which is quite unique. The reason is, students go through the lecture process and graduate in the midst of a pandemic. read more

On Monday, 15 November 2021. Our beloved board coordinator dr. Yodi Mahendradhata, M.Sc., PhD. was one of panelists for Global expert panel: Knowledge translation after COVID-19: Driving change through the evidence-policy-society interface forum.

WHO Global Evidence-to-Policy (E-2-P) Summit itself is a forum to capitalize all the lesson learned in evidence-informed policy-making in time of COVID-19. The event was conducted by WHO and held online. read more
